The History of Polbeng

 
In the early of 2000, bengkalis government, through Gema Bahari Institution built a college, Shipping Polytechnic of Bengkalis and had three study programs that were ship electricity engineering, ship structure engineering and ship machine  engineering. By the time, Shipping Polytechnic of Bengkalis changed the name into Polytechnic of Bengkalis and under Bangun Insani Institution (YBI) Bengkalis, it had five study programs they were : Shipping engineering, machine engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering and business administration.

In July, 2001, Polytechnic of Bengkalis accepted the first batch of students. In 2006, Polytechnic of Bengkalis added two study programs, English and Informatics Engineering.

In the early of 2008, Polytechnic of Bengkalis asked for support to YBI Bengkalis, Bengkalis Government and  local parliament of Bengkalis for proposing the escalation of status from private college into state college.

In 2009, Polytechnic of Bengkalis with YBI Bengkalis and Bengkalis government proposed the increasing of status from private college into state college to the ministry of national eduacation through directorate general of higher education.

In July 29, 2011, Polytechnic of Bengkalis changed into state college with the name State Polytechnic of Bengkalis through the regulation of minister of national education No.28, 2011 about the building, organization, and working systems of State Polytechnic of Bengkalis


In December 26, 2011, State Polytechnic of Bengkalis was initiated by minister of education and cultural republic of Indonesia


In 2013, State Polytechnic of Bengkalis added two new study programs, DIV (Engineering maintenance and production) and D-II (Welding technical, electric generator system engineering and computer accounting) as the study program out of domicile


In 2014 and 2015, State Polytechnic of Bengkalis added 2 study programs, DIV (road and bridge design engineering ) and DIII (Nautical, technical and management and commercial shipping)


In 2016, State Polytechnic of Bengkalis added some study programs, DIV (Software engineering, International Business administration and Public Financial Accounting)
